My Mostly Harmless Musings

To broaden your cultural awareness I offer this as a gift: an episode of the Japanese Dr. Who. They had me at Sonic Screw Sword.

And so begins my musings. Enjoy.

As part of my community service (don't ask), I am providing everyone with the formula for happiness. Now you will never get sad reading one of my posts.

I have something other than math to bring you cheer. Beer news! Did you know if you drink beer to treat kidney stones (it reduces the risk by 40%), the government will refund the money you spend on beer? Truth. I'll drink to that.

As a father and son project, Seth and I built a Summer Ale solar powered car. Can you guess my contribution?

I was driving home from the gym and was stopped by a chicken crossing the road (all true so far). I asked the chicken: why cross the road? (this part isn't true) I was told to cluck off. I hit the accelerator.

Here is an update on my novel. I'm working on the synopsis and having it beta read. Next up, passing it on to a publisher (which I don't have--yet).

The picture below makes it perfectly clear, these aren't meddling kids (anymore). They are Zombie liquidators. Got a problem with that? I thought not.

Random bonus musing: the other day I looked up the definition of irony. Here is what I found: George Harrison Tree killed by beetles. Yep. Here are the details from the Los Angeles Times.

Pictured are Michelle and Gwendolyn ready for a Packer Game. Win or lose, I'm told it is all about the fashion.

I went to the library and found this; a blast from my past.Try saying that title three times fast. BTW, It has been checkout out over the years by people other than me!

Cheers. See you soon

That's it for this post. Stay tuned for more.

My Mostly Harmless Musings

Once you have solved all the easy problems you have solved the hard problem.
-Daniel Dennett

Welcome back to my musings. First off I'd like to wish everyone a Happy FeastDay of St. Arnold of Soissons. You don't know what I mean? It's my favorite July holiday where we all drink a draft to honor the patron saint of beer.

Here is the question of the Month: what disease did a cured ham actually have?

And now I would like to share a graphic experience with everyone. I promise to be gentle.

I took the family to Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con and all I got was...(fun)

The best part is Matt Smith took Seth's Sonic Screwdriver and flicked it open like a pro (which technically he is). He even autographed the fez!

Who is this Michelle you speak of? She wants me to sign what?

I think Seth wore Gwendolyn out. She looks little peaked. To set the record straight, I can Walk with the Dead. I usually choose not to.

It's official, Gwendolyn loves Cosplay.
It's not a good idea to make Lou Ferrigno mad.

Christopher Lloyd to Gwendolyn:
DeLorean
Take you for a ride in it?
I don't know what you're talking about. I don't see any car.

Gwendolyn:
Really? You can't see it?

Karen Gillan to Gwendolyn:
Forget the DeLorean cutey, I know of a crazy blue box that is much more fun to travel in.

This year’s Philadelphia Writers' Conference rocked. The fact I say that every year doesn’t make me wrong. I direct you Jim Knipp's recap of all the fun and learning. The workshops and their leaders were (and are) impressive. The evening shenanigans were not my fault! I think.

Note: the writers conference was held at the same time as Beer Week.

Wake me for the next post.

That's it for this post. Stay tuned for more.
